The Shift

Well here we are, over a month since the kick-off of The Peace Project.
We are preparing curriculum for workshops, exploring interesting notions around what the Spring show might entail and taking some time with our families.

Many thanks to those of you who jumped in to support this project.

We look forward to a renewed production so keep the peace in every step and contact us to join in the journey.

Peace.

We're here! Nov 1-3 has finally arrived!

We arrive at the theatre on Wednesday!
It has been and continues to be an amazing journey for us! People and talents and gifts are arriving regularly and I can't articulate how deeply touching and meaningful this has been.
The daily reminder that this is going to keep rolling out as we keep entering, fully, into the creative work motivates me and brings me a peace that grounds me in a unique way.

Given that I still have a "gazillion" things to do before Wednesday - I thank all of you who have reserved your seats, sent encouragements, contributed yourselves and your resources!
Velocity Motion Werks and the space Pete is providing us inspires me to 'run away with the circus' and fly...but that shall be reserved for a post-show blog entry!!

See you later this week!

Peace.

from Rehearsal to Gala...

We had a beautiful day for our last public rehearsal! (no snow...?!)

It was beautiful to see children enjoying the labyrinth, running, skipping, giggling.
The space felt immense and offered some challenge to us as dancer and musician yet fed parts of us that needed some nurture.
Thanks to everyone who came.

We are just shy of a week away from our Gala event and it feels a little tight. Set, props, costumes, and media details are being finished up. We are thrilled to have warm, adequate and generously inexpensive rehearsal space from Velocity Motion Werks. Thanks Pete!

Please join us Nov 1-3 for our Gala, our kick-off, to this project.

As challenging as it has been to feel the calm and peace that passes understanding as we pull everything together, we know that this too has a season. The beauty of it is that there is deep learning available that we can put into our work and
peace is not far away- it resides within.

Mac MacKenzie and Deirdre Young along with Knox United Church Labyrinth sessions invite you!

Yes this Monday's lunch hour is going to be a mystic one! Feast on our 2nd public rehearsal and personal time in the labyrinth; be filled in sacred ways.

Comments from our last public rehearsal:
"I can't wait for the performance in November!"
"The music is incredible...so many amazing sounds."
"When will you workshop this? Sign me up."
"I was deeply moved by the connection I experienced."
"I felt like dancing...what energy..."

A NEW LOCATION!...at least for us;-)

Well we are about a week away from our first Public Rehearsal (Thursday October 4th at Knox United Church).
This will be a fun experience for us, not only to interact with new people but also to explore a new and beautiful space. We have been rehearsing in interesting and challenging locations over the last month (studios...Nose Hill...my garage...) and are encouraged by the prospects of a warm, well-sprung space. Acoustically it will be interesting to hear the soundscapes reverberate off solid walls and ornate wooden architecture.
Please come and experience this part of the work with us and contribute your sense and feeling to the project outcome.

Peace.

Deirdre
